The Walking Dead is an episodic graphic adventure video game series developed and originally published by Telltale Games, based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard, taking place in the universe of the comics but following a different story and characters. The first "season" of the game series was released in April 2012, and the series currently spans four main seasons of five "episodes" each, an additional episode as downloadable content (DLC), and a mini three-episode spin-off game, with the fourth and final season having premiered in 2018 and concluded in 2019. Currently published by Skybound Games, the games have been released to personal computers, game consoles, and mobile devices, and have had both digital and physical releases. It is Telltale's flagship franchise, with the combined games having sold 80 million episodes and generated over $300 million in revenue as of 2023.
